Technology and Innovation

In a world, in the midst of a technological boom, one needs to be constantly updated with the latest technology and innovations to keep up with the times. Technology for me, much like machines is anything that makes tasks easier so that the time and effort taken to complete a task otherwise, is drastically reduced.

As much as this is applicable to every individual, it is also applicable for all organizations today. For an organization to function smoothly, it should too be updated with the latest technology. However, this is absolutely essential for an E-Commerce company that has its business completely online, and transactions taking place all across the world, covering multiple time zones.

I personally believe that an organization works much like the human body, with each cell making its own contribution to the functioning of the whole. Therefore, much like the vitamin supplements that boost the efficiency of the body, technology, too, boosts the efficiency of the organization.

From Applications like Skype, that help one overcome the many natural and man-made barriers to provide effective communication, to extensions such as LastPass to provide the secure exchange of passwords within the organization, one has to try one’s best to reduce effort as much as possible. This helps in focusing more on priority tasks, rather than spending time on everyday wear and tear.

Apart from this, I feel that innovation too should be encouraged in an organization. A company is a melting pot of sorts of different minds with different perspectives that give rise to various unique and innovative ideas. Therefore, it is essential that one is open to such ideas as that, eventually, will help in paving the path towards success.

This is what I have believed in and kept in mind during my years as an entrepreneur and it has helped the company in raising the bar in the E-Commerce field, achieving new heights at a much faster rate than it could have done without such technology and innovation.

After all, today it is technology and innovation that ‘makes the world go ‘round’.
