Reap What You Sow

It is often said that ‘life is not a bed of roses’. It is but a series of uphills and downhills that one needs to traverse with persistence and patience. My mother used to always tell me that you ‘Reap what you Sow’, saying that one must tend to the seedling and be patient, nourish it, and then only, with time, shall it grow to bear fruit.

What it taught me was that to achieve anything in life one must put in a lot of effort. This is what I’ve also kept in mind throughout my entrepreneurial journey. Nothing can flourish unless it is tended to. We start small but we eventually grow one step at a time, with the right effort and along with the right people. Just as a plant needs fertilizers and external nutrients to grow, even we need a support system or a team to help our journey to success.

The New Year signifies a new opportunity. A chance to change and an opportunity to do something good. Most of us make resolutions, promising to stick to them but soon give up on the same within a few days. Opportunities do not come knocking on the door every day. But when it does, we should seize it.

So make those resolutions but remember to strive towards working hard to achieve them. For the fruit you reap at the end of the journey is worth the while.

With this thought, I wish everyone a very happy New Year and hope this year brings lots of opportunities to your doorstep.
