Are you able to Engage Employees at your Organization? Do you think it’s important to do so?

As the CEO of a rapidly growing 200 million dollar company, Ergode, I have always believed that my team members are the core strength and the reason behind achieving big milestones. This is why I make it a priority to show them appreciation and recognition for their hard work every now and then and encourage every leader in my organization to do the same.

One way we do this at Ergode is by regularly giving out physical tokens of appreciation to my team members in order to show that their hard work is valued. These physical tokens can then be exchanged for gifts or gift cards as per their liking. Furthermore, the accomplishments of a person or a team are recognized inside the organization via company-wide emails, newsletters, or occasions such as the monthly Townhall – CODE. This not only recognizes the individual employee or a team but also serves as motivation for others to strive for similar success.

Having lived in the US for nearly all of my life and visiting various places around the Globe, I have noticed that sport is a great way to unite people. At Ergode, we foster team spirit and a sense of belonging in the firm by arranging sports events throughout the year. We have various branches in India and we conduct different sports activities that bring personnel from all locations together to compete and form relationships. There is a “Fun Committee” in the organization that brainstorms almost every week to increase employee engagement and conducts “Fun Fridays“ to help them wind down after a productive week at work.

I also believe it is important to understand what every employee expects from an organization. Considering this, we conduct quick pulse surveys every now and then to understand how we can better our processes to make the team members feel more engaged and happy. In addition to the above, we also have a 15 minute learning session called TGIF (Thoughtful Gainful Informative Friday’s) where you can enjoy a quick cup of tea or coffee and learn something new simultaneously.

Along with learning, I genuinely believe that we should celebrate every achievement, no matter big or small, as this helps to boost one’s motivation and help them strive to achieve even newer heights. We ensure to celebrate important milestones that the team members have achieved, such as work anniversaries or promotions along with birthday bashes, festivals, success parties and team dinners as it brings people together. These celebrations are not only a way to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and dedication of my team, but they also foster a sense of belonging and fellowship within the team, like a family.

All in all, I believe that it is important to show appreciation and recognition for every good thing that happens in a person’s life. As humans have evolved throughout history, trust, satisfaction, and appreciation have played crucial roles in their development. With that said, I urge my readers to let me know one thing from the above that you implement in your daily lives or at your company that makes you feel engaged and happy. I would love to understand your thoughts.
