The Tortoise Mindset: Slow & Steady way of Progress

Let me start by asking – What is Progress?

For me Progress is the combination of slow, small and steady steps repeated time and time again. It is the process of gradually improving or getting nearer to achieving or completing something.

Achieving commendable goals takes disciplined, consistent effort over a long period of time. “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success-  Henry Ford.

What is Success? “Success is steady progress  towards one’s personal goals.

“Small progress is still progress, “Little by little becomes a lot.”

If you feel like quitting think about why you started & the moment when you want to quit, is the moment when you need to keep pushing. Do not be afraid of improving slowly, be afraid of standing still. It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.

You will always have Good days, Overwhelming days, Too tired days, Awesome days, I cant go on days and Everyday you will still show up. Don’t forget you’re human. Its Ok to have a meltdown. Just don’t unpack and live there. Cry it out. Then refocus on where you’ve headed.

Its not about perfect, its about effort . And when you bring that effort. Every single day. That’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs Small changes eventually add up to huge results.

No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying – Tony Robbins.

Focus your attention on the smallest steps of progress. Be sure that you like what you do and concentrate on the process – not the results. Small steps allow us to build confidence in ourselves and our ability to accomplish our goals. And with each small success and increase in confidence, we will have more motivation to continue challenging ourselves.

So, here’s what I suggest. Take your goals and chop them up into small daily minimum quotas. Then, start obsessing about executing on them every single day.

Someday you are going to look back on all the progress you’ve made and be glad you didn’t quit
