Coronavirus: The virus that has become a pandemic

There seems to be a mystery around the deadly and dangerous Coronavirus. Countries announcing preventive measures, lockdown measures. Data being shared on various social media platforms, Whatsapp and other messenger services. People switching on their panic mode. Coronavirus is spreading rapidly and the fear of contracting the virus has gripped everyone’s attention globally. The deaths due to Coronavirus have increased the terror of the virus.

The virus is a global concern. A concern that must be addressed at the earliest. I am sure that at an individual level and collectively we are taking all the measures to curb this Coronavirus menace. With the heavy amount of information made public in regards to the virus, it is very easy to absorb information that may be incorrect and may not be factual. I request all to exercise caution when it comes to consuming the content for Coronavirus. The information being circulated should not take the shape of irresistible fodder for the gossipmongers. Let us all switch on our alert mode and consider the information that is coming from a verified source.

We should take all the preventive measures that are being deployed for Coronavirus; Maintain social distancing. Avoid organizing or participating in large gatherings. Covering our mouth while sneezing and coughing. Not spitting in public. Seeking immediate medical care if you have a cough or fever. This is the right time to implement the proverb, ‘prevention is better than cure’. It is always easier to stop something from happening in the first place than to repair the damage after it has taken place.

I sincerely urge the working class, their families and everyone to consider Coronavirus as a serious matter and plant everything in our power to fight against the threat of this pandemic. I am pretty confident that we can and we will win the fight against Coronavirus!
