It has always been told that dogs are a man’s best friend. However, I personally feel that it is not dogs but Books that are and definitely should be Man’s best friend.
Growing up, to me, books were portals through which one could traverse across the world and sometimes even galaxies. They became not only a solace for me but provided me constant companionship, even in the darkest of times.

Books have always been a Pandora’s box of knowledge that teaches both children as well as adults about hope, love and courage. Pushing them to believe in themselves and instilling in them the courage to dream big.
From the stories of adventures to mysteries on the moor. From princesses in castles to the lores of Transylvania, books have always taught people that there is always light at the end of the tunnel and that sometimes like ‘Matilda’ they have the immense power of change.

Personally it was by reading books about famous personalities and books on history that I too was encouraged to dream big and gain the courage to achieve what I have today.
However, it is sad to see that there has been an increasing decline in readers of books today, with most having no time to relax and sit pouring over a book and sipping on some hot cocoa. With our fast-changing world to see some engrossed in the world of a book, probably fighting dragons on a mountain, while physically sitting in the cloisters of a subway, gives me a sense of familiarity and warmth. Hope that the legacy of books and their immense knowledge shall surely be passed on.

Therefore, today I encourage my children to read as many books as they can so that they too can question the world and gain the courage like the five founders or even Sherlock Holmes to solve any problems that come their way. A knowledge that shall help them in the future to face the hurdles of the world as full and wholesome human beings.
